Supporting independent schools to reach excellence for 50 years

For 50 years, OFIS has understood that our diverse, independent schools and the people who helm them seek the support and inspiration of other leaders in education. Professional development, community collaboration, and an environment within which to reach excellence is what OFIS offers to all our member schools. We have seen, over the past five decades, that school leaders are proud to meet our membership requirements in order to receive the support they deserve. OFIS champions the right to choose – a school’s right to choose its unique pedagogy, and a parent’s right to choose their child’s educational environment. OFIS continues to advocate on behalf of its member schools and parents to make those choices. As the largest association of its kind, OFIS represents a diverse membership of schools including traditional, faith-based, progressive, special needs, special-interest, and community/micro schools in Ontario. While we continue to strengthen the rigorous membership application process in order to better serve our schools, we look forward to you joining us as we celebrate our first 50 years, and look confidently towards the next 50 years.
