Directors serve 3 year terms and can be appointed by the executive director and the current board (at-large members), can be appointed to represent an association member of OFIS (appointed by their own association) or can be elected each year at our Annual General Meeting held in the fall. A chief consideration is that directors have experience with and/or represent the great variety of independent schools in the province and in the membership.

Board meetings are public meetings and member schools may send representatives to attend as observers by informing the chair of their intention to do so. The Executive Board meets between board meetings as issues and circumstances dictate.
