May 1 2018 – 12noon – 4pm – Upper York School – Markham, ON – An informal afternoon lunch & learn opportunity – round-table discussion, employment legislation updates, insurance compliance & policy development and government relations update prior to provincial election in June
Bring along your lunch and join other private school leaders for an afternoon of networking, discussion on education leadership in the 21st century, legislative updates affecting employment contracts at private schools and insurance compliance expectations that affect abuse prevention and intervention policies. We will also leave time for some government relations updates now that Ontario has a new private schools coordinator and a provincial election is right around the corner.
We’ll spend the first hour in a roundtable on these two questions – please come with your ideas and prepared to discuss:
1. How do we make our schools fit to face the 21st century?
2. How can OFIS assist with this?
The rest of the afternoon will be dedicated to providing participants with resources required to update current employment agreements that reflect new legislation and policy development tips in light of insurance compliance expectations. We’ll also have some time for discussion on the current provincial government atmosphere for private schools as well as how the next provincial election could impact.
This will be an informal, collaborative networking environment where ideas will be pooled to plan future regional sessions.
OFIS Members – $150
Non-Members – $250
