Professional Development
Bringing your school to a level of excellence means maintaining leadership skills through professional development. Supporting you in your journey towards excellence is our goal through OFIS Professional Development Events and Resources. These events aim to strengthen leadership capacities within independent schools, providing you with tools to develop your skills and strengthen your voice. Our events are reflective of the most current government expectations, legal obligations and innovative leadership ideas.
School Management Review
To help you manage the operational integrity of your school, OFIS conducts school management reviews that assess independent schools in the areas of governance, operations, policy, financial wellness and communications. This certification enables independent schools to be recognized for their innovation and provides an opportunity to identify areas where change is required for growth and improved success.
Consultation Packages
The needs of each school are as unique and diverse as the schools that make up our membership. OFIS provides individualized consultation packages to member schools, working closely with school leaders to establish their specific needs and goals. Consultation services may include policy review and development, teacher training , marketing plans, school inspection preparation and more.
Learning from Leaders
Being part of a network of leaders means OFIS members can access the collective knowledge and experience of a diverse group of independent school leaders across Ontario. Connecting through our monthly online leader meetings and the OFIS discussion forum allows members to share ideas, ask questions, collaborate and find support from others that understand the unique challenges of leading independent schools in Ontario.
